Every student is unique in what they need to achieve optimal functioning. A concern may be resolved in a single session or additional sessions may be scheduled. Additionally, a therapist may refer a student to group therapy or collaborate with other university resources. If a student’s situation requires counseling beyond the scope of the Health & Counseling Center resources, a referent to professional services in Austin is offered.

小组辅导

Group counseling helps people deal with a broad range of concerns, from reactions to life stress to ongoing anxiety or depression. Often times it can be extremely powerful to process concerns with other students expressing similar struggles. The Health & Counseling Center offers different group therapy experiences each semester based on the need of the student population. Some groups are more structured in nature and focus on specific topics or themes. Others are open processing groups that cover a broad range of issues and focus more on “here-and-now” interactions in the room. In all groups at the HCC, the importance of confidentiality is emphasized.
